In collaboration with Nvidia Corp, VMware announced the development of a new set of software tools. It will aid companies in building generative artificial intelligence in-house rather than on the cloud.
Broadcom will soon purchase VMware’s software in a $69 billion deal. Businesses will use it to manage their data centers. Companies have been computing power in central processor chips, the brains of conventional servers, using VMware’s capabilities for over 20 years.
The business unveiled a new set of management tools for Nvidia processors. It will lead the market for AI programs that can read and write language like a person’s. Microsoft Corp deals in cloud-based technologies. For instance, I can sift through emails and conversations between work team members and briefly report their progress.
According to VMware CEO Raghu Raghuram, corporations are interested in the technology for various reasons, including making it easier for software engineers to write code and simpler for lawyers to draft legal documents. But when the data is sensitive, some VMware clients do that job in their data centers.
“Imagine a common use case: I want it to read all my legal contracts so I can generate new contracts faster. Obviously, that is going to be super, super secretive – you don’t want that data escaping anywhere,” Raghuram said.
According to VMware, the new tools will be accessible in 2019. Other than to indicate that the cost will depend on how many Nvidia chips the user uses the software to control, the firm declined to provide pricing information.
