DoorFeed, a platform founded by James Kirimy, an early Uber UK employee, has successfully secured €7 million in a seed extension round led by Motive Ventures. The funding round also saw participation from Stride VC and Seedcamp, showcasing the growing confidence in DoorFeed’s unique approach to residential real estate investments.
DoorFeed functions as a comprehensive data and operations hub for investment funds. The platform not only streamlines the investment process but also offers insights into the energy performance of properties. This feature allows investors to identify homes that require renovation, potentially unlocking valuable ESG (environmental, social, and governance) credits from governments.
The platform generates revenue through multiple channels, including sourcing fees, renovation management fees, and annual property and asset management fees. This unique approach positions DoorFeed as a key player in the evolving residential real estate investment landscape.
DoorFeed is not alone in its pursuit of revolutionizing the residential real estate investment market. Immo Capital recently secured a substantial $90.7 million, while Bricklane, focusing on rental housing, raised £6 million. Casafari, operating in Spain and Portugal, also entered the arena with $20.5 million in funding.
Expanding Opportunities in European Living Assets
The European living assets market has grown remarkably, surpassing other real estate asset classes. JLL said investment in this sector reached €10.6 billion in the second quarter, showcasing the immense growth potential. With approximately 20% of the market comprised of buy-to-let investors, DoorFeed and its counterparts are strategically positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand in this dynamic market.
DoorFeed’s latest funding injection positions the platform for further expansion and innovation in the residential real estate investment space, paving the way for a more streamlined and efficient approach for institutional investors.
