Meta introduces gen-AI experience Imagine with Meta
Meta has introduced a new standalone generative AI experience on the web called Imagine with Meta, enabling users to generate images by describing them in natural language. The company has received positive feedback on how users leverage Imagine, Meta AI’s text-to-image generation feature, for creative chat content.
The access to Imagine is now expanding beyond chats, with availability in the US initially at imagine.meta.com. This standalone platform caters to creative hobbyists, allowing them to create images using technology from Emu, Meta’s image foundation model. While Meta has tailored the messaging experience for playful interactions, users can now freely generate images on the web as well.
Initially, the generated images will not be live. However, Meta has committed to adding invisible watermarks to the content in the coming weeks for enhanced transparency and traceability. “We’re committed to building responsibly with safety in mind across our products and know how important transparency is when it comes to the content AI generates,” writes Meta in a blog post.
Meta has already implemented a visible watermark, and they will create invisible watermarks using an AI model. There’s no information available on whether they will make the detection model public in the future.
