Artelize receives €1 million in pre-seed funding round

Artelize, a platform for the performing arts, just received €1 million in pre-seed funding. This investment will help Artelize continue its mission to assist struggling artists and arts groups by helping them reach a wider audience for their events and shows. With new funding, Artelize aims to grow in the UK and Europe.

Bjørn Bruun, Founder of Danish fashion brand Bruuns Bazaar and active angel investor, led the investment round. A group of other angel investors also participated. In addition to the €1 million pre-seed funding, Artelize received support from the Danish Innobooster Programme and a loan from the Danish Export and Investment Fund. Moreover, this funding comes after an initial round with Tesla founders Marc Tarpenning and Martin Eberhard, which raised €350k.

Artelize started in 2022 with a team of former artists, entrepreneurs, and tech experts. Using AI, it gathers details about concerts and shows across various performing arts. The platform helps artists and event organizers create pages to showcase themselves. Currently focused on the US, it features 24,000 events and 29,000 artists. Their latest tech, launched in 2024, is a mobile app merging database info with AI-generated text. This helps artists quickly craft social media posts for upcoming events or share highlights from past shows when they’re not performing.

Artelize Career Booster helps artists showcase their success effortlessly, allowing them to incrementally build their careers and escape the ‘rehearsal room trap’. The Career Booster is free for up to two social media posts monthly, with an option to upgrade to the pro tier starting at $10 per month. Artelize plans to launch the next version of its audience-building tools in early 2024 to further support arts organizations in engaging and expanding their audience.
