Gremlin launches Detected Risks feature

Reliability testing startup Gremlin launched its Detected Risks feature to identify high-priority reliability issues automatically. Government, healthcare, transportation, communication, and finance rely on digital infrastructures. However, these systems carry vulnerabilities that can harm their operation and cause disruptions in people’s lives.

Gremlin collaborated closely with its customers and discovered significant reliability challenges in nearly every organization, including issues like the absence of zone redundancy and misconfigured autoscaling. These common misconfigurations, while often easy to rectify if identified, can severely affect system reliability.

This is where Detected Risks come into play. While Gremlin’s chaos engineering tools seek out unusual scenarios to stress-test a company’s infrastructure, Detected Risks employs a set of 6 pre-configured tests. The company expects 20 additional ones later this year. You can read the docs for more detailed information on each risk.

Detected Risks swiftly identify potential points of failure and guide teams toward solutions with minimal setup. All you need to do is install the Gremlin agent and add your services to Gremlin, either automatically with annotations or manually. Then, Gremlin will detect your risks and show them in the UI.

Once you’ve addressed your initial risks, extending Gremlin to more services becomes effortless. This enables you to enhance the reliability score on each service and tap into Gremlin’s complete toolset for enterprise-scale reliability modernization.
