Uber Eats and Getir Will Deliver Grocery in Europe

Once valued at $12 billion, Turkish startup Getir is partnering with Uber Eats to launch a speedy grocery delivery service in the UK. The service is expected to sweep across Europe soon.

Notably, Uber Eats has witnessed a surge in demand for grocery deliveries, with New Verticals’ orders exceeding $5 billion in Gross Bookings in Q1, up nearly 35% year-on-year on a constant currency basis.

Leveraging Getir’s dark store network, the partnership offers Uber Eats UK users access to 2,000 products, all delivered within minutes. The partnership will employ Getir couriers for grocery deliveries, ensuring delivery times remain as swift as ever. Uber Eats users will soon be able to shop from Gorillas stores, further enhancing the choice range.

Eve Henrikson, regional general manager of Uber Delivery EMEA, expressed,

This partnership between two strong and well-known international brands brings great advantages to Uber Eats customers, who now have the option to choose from Getir’s wide range of grocery and convenience products. At the same time, Getir benefits from accessing Uber Eats’ large pool of customers, further contributing to its growth,” he also suggested.

In the ever-changing q-commerce landscape post-pandemic, this partnership is a game-changer for both companies.
