Microsoft’s Bing Chat is now available in Chrome and Safari for ‘select users’

Bing Chat, Microsoft’s AI chatbot, is coming to non-Microsoft browsers. The company reported after multiple reports of the AI chatbot being found on browsers such as Google Chrome and Apple’s Safari. Microsoft’s ChatGPT-like AI chatbot will now be available to a larger variety of people. It was previously only available to customers through Microsoft products such as Bing mobile app and Microsoft Edge browser.

Extension to Other Browsers:

Bing Chat is expected to extend to other browsers.

“We are fighting access to Bing Chat in Safari and Chrome to select users as part of our testing on other browsers. We are excited to expand access to even more users once our standard testing procedures are complete,” said Microsoft Director of Communications, Caitlin Roulston, in an emailed statement.

Bing AI in Google Chrome is currently available to most users and functions as expected. Navigate to bing.com and choose the “Chat” icon in the upper left corner of the screen. The chatbot will also be integrated with conventional search results. Bing’s support for all browsers is still in the works and is only available to a few people.

Those who got access to the Bing AI chatbot were greeted with a pop-up in Windows 10 or 11 taskbar. Users can also visit Bing.com from their chosen browser and click the “Chat” button to check out the experience.

ChatGPT driven experience:

OpenAI’s GPT-4 model drives Bing Chat’s ChatGPT-like experience. Some users have claimed that trying the AI chatbot in other browsers has greater limits than the original version.WindowsLatest.com reported that Bing Chat on Chrome only enables five messages per chat instead of the 30 accessible in Microsoft Edge. According to the website, it also restricted the character count to 2,000 rather than the 3,000 supported by Edge. Microsoft has declined to validate this data or give any other information related to various versions of Bing Chat. The corporation also refused to say when the rollout to additional browsers began.

Incorporation in Microsoft Products:

Following its initial release earlier this year, Bing Chat has begun integrating other Microsoft products. The new Bing was launched via the mobile app and Edge browser for iOS, Android, and PC. Microsoft announced that Bing Chat will expand into the corporate with a version of Bing Chat. It includes business-focused data protection and governance controls. Along with that news, Microsoft also mentioned Visual Search, which allows the chatbot to answer inquiries regarding uploaded photos. Microsoft’s ChatGPT-powered Bing AI experience has long been restricted to Edge browser, but Google Chrome compatibility is now accessible.

Dark Mode Availability:

Bing AI in Google Chrome is currently available to most users and functions as expected. Navigate to bing.com and choose the “Chat” icon in the upper left corner of the screen. Microsoft has silently added dark mode support to Bing AI. The theme is set to match the system settings by default, but it may also be changed manually. Bing AI’s dark mode is completely black, unlike the dark grey found in Google’s offerings.
