ChatGPT for Android Now Available in Multiple Countries
OpenAI’s ChatGPT is now available on Android and had a successful preorder page launch on Google Play and is available in several countries, including the U.S., India, Bangladesh, and Brazil.
There’s no need to worry for those outside the initial release countries. OpenAI plans to expand availability to more regions very soon, with additional countries gaining access within the next week. If you own an iPhone, you might already know the official ChatGPT app, as iOS has had it available for some time. However, the Android release stands out due to the larger user base on the Android platform worldwide. If you’ve used ChatGPT on the web, you can expect a similar chatbot experience from the mobile app. OpenAI has thoughtfully optimized the interface for mobile use, creating a feeling of messaging a friend. Type your text at the bottom of the screen, hit send, and ChatGPT will provide the advice, tips, and information you need.
The app seamlessly integrates with your existing OpenAI account, allowing you to access past conversations across all your devices if you have enabled the “chat history & training” feature. Remember that disabling one setting will also disable the other.
OpenAI offers a free account sign-up option, but they also give the choice of an optional subscription, which grants access to a more advanced language model (GPT-4) and additional features. Android users can also purchase the ChatGPT Plus subscription through the app. If you are already a subscriber, you can enjoy ChatGPT Plus features on Android using your existing subscription. According to data.ai, the Android version of ChatGPT has now surpassed 500,000 installs on the Google Play store.
