Amazon Luna App Launches on LG Smart TVs
LG and Amazon have joined forces to bring the Amazon Luna, a cloud-based game streaming service, to LG smart TVs made between 2021 and 2023 with webOS 6.0 or later. The app is available in the United States, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. This partnership follows a similar move to make Luna available on Samsung Smart TVs, demonstrating the commitment Amazon has toward expanding its service’s accessibility.
The Luna app allows Amazon Prime members to play popular games like “Fortnite,” for free. However, to unlock the full range of games, such as “Sonic Mania Plus,” “Resident Evil 2,” and “Lego DC Super-Villains,” users are required to subscribe to Luna+. This subscription costs $9.99 per month.
Additional bundles include Ubisoft+ at $17.99/month and Jackbox games for $4.99/month.Ubisoft+ offers Ubisoft titles like different versions of “Assassin’s Creed” and “Far Cry.” The Jackbox bundle, on the other hand, has a collection of multiplayer party games.
Moreover, players on LG smart TVs can control games using the Luna Controller, Luna Phone Controller app, or a compatible Bluetooth controller. These alternatives offer players flexibility in choosing their preferred method of interaction with the games.
Through this collaboration with LG, Amazon caters to a broader audience while offering diverse subscription plans to cater to various gaming preferences.
